You might have noticed that things are a little different from my previous blog – the name is different and the feel is different. I’m now officially a website and I’m expanding my writing options to fully encompass what I do on a daily basis.
Why the change?
Things are expanding in my life and just being Jhordan’s Sister couldn’t necessarily portray all these exciting moments – I will of course always be the sister; a bit too personal, sometimes vulnerable – but I am now not just the girl who started blogging as an outlet for the crazy thoughts…sometimes I have nice thoughts too.
The name is derived from my English roots (the rose is the national flower of England) and the thorns maintain that sometimes there are sharp, possibly painful moments in life or moments which stick out and burrow under your skin in such a manner that you must pay them attention. It was going to be called “Gin is for breakfast” (which I still might use somewhere) but that just narrowed me down to a liquor-soaked trollop…not that there wouldn’t be some truth in that.
So there you have it, the new me. Taa daa!
What you will find on this site
A lot of rambling – coherent sentences were never my strong point.
Food and wine reviews.
Travelling moments (before anyone bitches about “traveling” v. “travelling”, I am not American.)
Photography.
Personal musings (marriage, PMS, people, family, love, hate, fears, passions…)
Sarcasm. Oh so much sarcasm.
What you won’t find on this site
Recipes – I’m great at making up things as I go along but I fail miserably at writing it all down.
Fashion.
Less than honest reviews – I get into trouble with how blunt I am, I can’t go changing now.
Un-relatable content.
What other changes have happened?
I’ve become more involved in photography.
I’ve become a Pescetarian (stay tuned for a post on that soon).
I’m going to the UK next month and I’m so happy I could cry.

Ah, honesty and subtlety, combined with wine and food. Only from my awesome niece!
Thank you so much Russ!
