The Capital Mirage, the latest in ‘extended stay’ hotels under the Capital Hotel Group portfolio, offers sophisticated urban design for discerning travelers and marked its increasing growth with a celebratory dinner in the hotel’s breathtaking bar, The Vue.
Introductions were made by MCC Leigh-Ann Williams and guests were welcomed with glasses of Moet & Chandon and showed around the suites. Freshly shucked oysters and sushi were offered before the Capital Hotel Group’s MD, Marc Wachsberger spoke of the hotel’s leading feature,
“The Capital Mirage is the company’s most sophisticated offering to date, offering a lifestyle in a league of its own,” he says. “As Cape Town’s first new hotel development since the World Cup in 2010, we were essentially able to create a true 21st century offering from scratch, complete with all the necessary services and conveniences.”
The Rooms
There are 65 rooms and their extended stay suites have fully equipped kitchens, complimentary laundry (which makes me want to check in immediately) and the most important of amenities, uncapped high speed Wi-Fi. Naturally, they are extremely popular with business people but I can definitely see the appeal for overseas travelers who want to be in the heart of the city.
The Vue Skybar
The pièce de résistance of the hotel is their sky-scanning bar which has unparalleled 360 degree views over the Mother City.
Cool blue is the theme and they offer a large array of tapas options (as well as a lunch and dinner menu) and delicious Belvedere Vodka cocktails.
