I’m a sucker for organizing a good event, especially one that encourages online women to meet in real life and enjoy each other’s company with a purpose.
Sip ‘N Paint, a wine and art afternoon, was Adi Hoffmeester’s great brainchild – and together we created an event for Women’s Month that would be a safe and fun space for getting crafty whilst also benefiting Adi’s charity, Beats For Change, and utilizing local company, the Canvas Club.
With a bit of wine, some amazing cookies from The Frosted Raspberry, donuts, and snack platters, we had a wonderful afternoon with incredible women, many of whom I am blessed to now call friends.
If you missed this one, there will be another one happening in the future, so check out some of the photos I took and send us a mail here if you’re keen to attend our next craft event.
The Canvas Club
As a local company that celebrates and nurtures the magic of creativity, they are a large team that offers creative art sessions, first and foremost to young people and children but are now branching out to create classes for adults.
For our event, they did all the setup, and gave us a brief intro to two possible painting themes should we have needed inspiration. They were also on hand for the rest of the afternoon seeing to our artistic needs and cleaning up everything afterwards. What an amazing company – I can’t recommend them highly enough for making Sip ‘N Paint a success.
The Tygerberg Art Centre offered the perfect space for us to unleash our creativity and we had room enough for 30 women.
Were there some Picassos present?
People came to take names and slay! I mean, I’m not an artist and I was kinda hoping to be surrounded by people with the same level of expertise but folks turned up to create masterpieces and showoff some hidden talents.
From 1-4pm we allowed ourselves to be fully immersed in our painting, stopping only to refill our glasses, grab something to eat and take photos.
And I even managed to get everyone together for a group photo!
Thank you to everyone who supported this event – you made it such a joy.

It was an incredible event and I loved seeing how everyone’s personality came out with the art (and the wine!)
