The Bosch Cooking Experience

Last weekend, I spent the afternoon with some amazing mommy bloggers to experience the cooking courses that the BSH Home Appliances showroom offers. The Bosch Cooking Experiences might have been flying under the radar but it’s time they received some spotlight.

Located on New Church street, the Experience Centre allows you to learn more about Bosch, Siemens and Gaggenau through cooking with them.

Invited to cook alongside a group of women I follow on Instagram, I loved getting to know people in person (how often do you see people online and don’t get the chance to be with them in real life) and with Mr H working, the team even let me bring Cece with and she got more snuggles than I did!

We were greeted in the showroom with amazing non-alcoholic G&Ts from local distillery, Vermont – Honestly folks, it tasted like real gin, not like those super sweet messes you often get served.

After taking a lot of photos of our pretty cocktails, we headed upstairs to the kitchen and dining area which has a spectacular view of Table Mountain. We were treated to various wines, cheeses and breads (I’m a sucker for cheese).

After a significant amount of chatting and catching up, we got ourselves into pairs ready to cook up a storm.

The dish was salmon papiette with new baby potatoes and greens. My cooking partner, Nadine Smallberg from Smallberg Party Of Four , was amazing, doing all of the hard work as I had to bounce Cece around. The recipe was easy to follow….even if I did mess it up…and help was always at hand.

Some of us might have gotten a little competitive (okay, mainly just me) and I would totally recommend this for a team-building exercise.

Once we had eaten, and no matter your dietary requirement, there was something for you, we were treated even further to one of the most deliciously chocolatey dishes ever.

The Bosch Cooking Experience offers various options – you can learn basic food skills or attend themed cooking nights such as Mexican or Indian. The cost of the basic cooking class is R500pp and they state that

During this two-hour, practical cooking class, you will learn about fine cuisine, the principles of steaming, the versatility of 4D Hot Air and the wonders of induction hobs.

If you’re in Johannesburg, they have a larger variety of classes – you can see them all here.

For families, friends, work evenings or private events, I would really recommend booking a class!
